• I grew up in Connecticut, moved to Houston when I was in high school, traveled throughout the mid-west for a year with a Christian ministry band called Captive Free, and then ended up at Stanford for college. After graduating in May of 1999, I moved to Lubbock Texas where my fiancee was finishing college. That December, Rachel and I got married and then moved back to the Bay Area to live in Sunnyvale.

I started a job working for Oracle Corporation and Rachel did various things: volunteering at Community Pregnancy Center and personal training at the YMCA. We participated in the internship program at PBC together, helping out with the college ministry. After that, I decided I wanted more training before heading into ministry, and so we moved to Dallas, Texas for me to attend seminary at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Just before we moved, we had our first child, Eliana Marie. While we were there, we had two more children: Silas James and Ava Grace. You can read more about our family life on our family website. After spending four years there, studying, working part-time for Oracle, and trying to figure out what it means to be a parent, I graduated in December 2006. We packed our three kids, two dogs, and a snake into the Mother Ship (our minivan) and we headed back to Mountain View for me to work as College Pastor at PBC.

I'm thrilled to be back at PBC where I grew up spiritually. I believe God has great plans for how He wants to engage with people in the Bay Area in college and beyond. And I feel privileged to have some role in the process of God loving His children.
